Saginaw Township Community Schools has opted to participate in the Michigan School Meals program signed by the Governor on July 3rd, 2024. This is a program offered to all Michigan Public Schools.
STCS is pleased to offer a free breakfast and lunch to each student every day for the 2024-25 school year. However, we will still need parents to fill out the Education Benefits Form (formerly Free & Reduced Meals Application) so they will have easy access to Summer EBT benefits next year and the district will have full access to federal and state funding for educational programs provided by these forms. These forms will be mailed to every household and will be available online in early August when the new Nutrition Services app is released online.
What this means for our STCS families:
Although all students will have free access to meals, this form is what will be used to qualify households for additional benefits formerly associated with the Free and Reduced Meals Application. Some of these benefits include:
Discounted Internet Fees from providers.
Discounted Test Fees
Summer EBT Benefits
Consideration for assistance for food programs
Consideration for assistance for the holidays
Consideration for assistance with school supplies and backpack programs
Donations from outside entities looking to donate coats, hats gloves etc.
If you choose to have your students name given for these additional benefits, you need to fill out and turn in the Sharing Information with Other Programs form with your Education Benefits Form.
In addition to the additional benefits available to households, these forms also assist the school district with additional funding specifically for educational programs. It is very important to still fill out this form for your family-we only need one per household.
The form can be filled out two different ways. Online or on a paper form. We only need One Per Household With All Students Listed.
Paper Form:
We will be mailing these forms to every household with currently enrolled students in August. We will also have them available in each schools main office if you need to pick one up. These forms will also be available at the open houses at the individual school buildings prior to school start up.
