You can go into a business or call a business to ask if they are hiring. You can also look for a career/job link on a business website or use a job search engine on the internet like Indeed, Snagajob, or Google. Sometimes businesses reach out directly to Heritage High School looking for students to employ. Many of these employers also consider students for Work Based Learning HHS credits. We are looking for a tutor(s) 18 and older for a young man with autism. You will be trained by the tutors currently in this position. He is an amazing person to work with. He is laid back, very friendly, and good at following instructions. When working with him, you will focus on educational material (math, reading comprehension, etc.) and life skills (shipping, safety, cooking, working out, going out in public). There will be opportunities that you two will go out for fun activities depending on the time of year. This position is paid through the Saginaw County Community of Mental Health Authority, but you will be hired by and work directly with the family. This is a great opportunity to work with a great family, develop new skills, and guaranteed you will learn so much from him as he learns from you! |
