BREAKFAST IS AVAILABLE AT SCHOOL!

April 18, 2023

DID YOU KNOW?

BREAKFAST IS AVAILABLE AT SCHOOL!

Mornings can be really crazy…the alarm doesn’t go off…the kids don’t want to get up…there is no time to eat breakfast before the bus comes…or they’re just not ready to eat!  Or maybe your teenager grabs a soda and a candy bar on the way to school.  If this sounds like your house in the morning, we can help.  Breakfast is served at school every day school is in session!

Why choose School Breakfast?
School breakfast will give your child a healthy start to the day.  Students who eat breakfast have better attention and memory (1), and studies show that eating breakfast at school results in higher test scores (2).  Hungry children are more likely to have discipline problems.  However, teens who eat regularly are less likely to be suspended from school (1).  Kids who participate in the School Breakfast Program are late or absent from school less often (2)

MENU CHANGES

August 02, 2022

Our district sometimes experiences unavailable items from vendors, shortages on shipments and last-minute substitutions due to out-of-stock items on orders. Our menus are subject to change, but we will do our best to notify you of changes here on our website and through social media and school announcements.

In the event of snow days or school cancellations for other reasons the individual buildings normally put the information regarding menu changes on their website or social media page.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Students Account Refunds

August 02, 2022

If your graduating senior has money left in his/her school meal account at the end of the school year, the money will automatically transfer to a sibling account, as long as your senior is connected to a sibling in Saginaw Township Community Schools, Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary School or Peace Lutheran School.  If your senior does not have a sibling, you can request an account refund by completing and submitting the attached "Account Balance Refund Request" form.  Account refund checks will only be processed for balances of $5.00 or more.  Completed forms can be mailed to the address at the top of the form, faxed to 989-793-2292 or scanned and emailed to: nutritionservices@stcs.org.  Students with less than $5.00 in their accounts should be encouraged to spend down their balance.  OR you can "Pay it Forward" by donating the unused balance in your student's meal account to our "Pay It Forward" account to help needy students pay on their school meal accounts.

Student meal account balances for students in all other grades will "roll over" to the next school year and be available the first day of school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Nutrition Services Office at 989-793-9713.
