Communicable Disease Information Guide

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE CONTROL
Children can be ill for a variety of reasons. Some reasons are nuisance problems, others can lead to serious illness. This information is very important to communicable disease prevention efforts in your school. It is also important to see your healthcare provider for confirmation and diagnosis of illness.

The following are some guidelines for signs and symptoms of when to exclude your child until fully recovered, and call your healthcare provider for recommendations:

  • Excessive Tiredness
  • Cough (Persistent)
  • Skin Rash/Sores
  • Nausea/Vomiting
  • Runny Nose
  • Fever(100 o or greater)
  • Sore Throat
  • Headache
  • Flushed Face
  • Diarrhea
  • Red or Watery Eyes
  • Yellowing of eyes or skin
  • Abdominal Pain
