Saginaw Township Community Schools Parent Notification System Saginaw Township Community Schools uses the Honeywell Instant Alert parent/staff notification system. The primary purpose of this system is to alert parents in case of an emergency, but there are also many other uses including:
The system can handle up to 10,000 calls a minute. Allowing for trying additional times after busy signals or invalid phone numbers, district-wide alerts should be completed in well under 30 minutes. For this system to work, it is important that we have your correct contact information. You can verify your phone numbers and change your email address online using Family Access. To do this, log in at http://www.stcs.org/familyaccess and click on the "Account Info" tab. Students/Parents, please contact your building secretary if you need to change/add a phone number or if you do not have your Family Access ID and password. Staff members should complete a change of address form with the HR Department. Please do not remove valid phone numbers from our system. If you do not want a number included in the automated alert system, we can set a flag on the number. Please be aware that if we remove your number from the school closing notification list, you will not receive emergency notifications either. If you have your numbers removed, please make sure that your email address is current, every call is accompanied by an email. Emergency and unscheduled mid-day school closing (weather) calls will be made to your home, work and cell phone numbers and sent to your email; most other calls will go to home and email only. Normal school closing (weather) calls will be made to your home and cell phone numbers and sent to your email; most other calls will go to home and email only. Per parent/employer requests, school closing calls will not go to work numbers as of 2/5/2008. If you are not an STCS student, parent, staff member, or an employer of any of these categories, but receive STCS notification messages in error, please contact Jim Mitchell at 399-8050 to get removed.
