The school start times for scheduled half-days is as follows:

Bus pick-up times will be adjusted back by 3 hours and 50 minutes.

 Check the district webpage for notice of School Closings, Delayed Start of the School Day (2 hour delay), and Cancellation of Events or Activities. Information will be posted at www.stcs.org when a decision is made regarding these weather-related situations.

SCHOOL CLOSING POLICY

If inclement weather prevents opening schools on time, a two (2) hour delay of all schools will be scheduled. This policy will continue to be in effect.

Whenever the weather warrants a possible school closure, the safe transportation of children both to and from school will be the district's highest priority.

A decision on school delays will be made by 5:30 am by the Superintendent of Schools, after consultation with the Buildings and Grounds and Transportation Departments.

An announcement will be made by 6:00 am regarding a school closure or a two (2) hour delay of school. A second announcement will be made by 7:30 am following a two-hour delay if school is to be closed for a full day. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL.

STCS will use the following methods (not necessarily in order) to distribute school closing information:

1) We will notify local radio and TV stations

2) We will update the district TV channel - 98 on Charter

3) We will update the district web page - http://www.stcs.org/

4) We will use our Instant Alert system to call/email all STCS parents.  Scheduled closings will be announced the night before to Home Numbers & email. For unscheduled closings, calls will be sent to all parent home/cell numbers & email addresses -  www.stcs.org/notify .
